Me and DaNece have a problem. Our problem is stuff. We have an excess of it. So this weekend we started to lighten the load. We began with the books. We both have our own little book collections, which over the years continue to grow and grow. Books we’ve read and liked. Books we’ve never gotten around to reading. Some books that we didn’t like at all.
Finally it was time to cut the clutter. So we went through all the books and decided what to keep. I’m keeping only the books I intend to read in the next year (about 12), and DaNece is keeping about 40 books, mostly Stephen King.
These will all be disappearing from our residence in the coming days:

I told your gal to take them to Hastings because they do cash or credit for used books and CD's and DVD's...it's great to get credit and then use it towards renting movies or other such fun stuff!
Good luck with the household downsizing. We go through a collecting phase where the Stuff piles up, then get sick of it and the Stuff goes out. Our biggest battle is also books. We both go through 3-5 books a week, so if we buy them, they really pile up. Thank God for the library. Saves money and saves space.
Sadira - I told her she can do whatever she wants with the pile, as long as it gets gone. Left to myself I would just give them all to salvation army or something similar.
I haven't been to hastings in years. :)
Ric - yeah, we've been collecting crap for 3 years now and I am just so tired of it. If it doesn't have realistic usability it is going. This all works into our plan of downsizing our household as well, so there are some ulterior motives kicking us in the ass to get it rolling.
It feels good to do that. When Steve and I moved in October 2007, we dumped 75% of our house. It was freakin awesome.
Melissa - I'm hoping to get rid of at least 3/4 of the stuff I own.
It's time to re prioritize my life a bit. :)
