Random Lifey Bits

Some random bits from life lately:

- The holidays are over, and life can begin to resume as normal. Which means taking our cookie-addicted asses back to the gym. :)

- Rundown of the movies we’ve watched lately:

- The New World – totally sucked

- The Spirit – meh. I was hoping for sin city, and got something else. D liked it though.

- Seven Pounds – Wow! Great flick. My stony demeanor was nearly brought to tears.

- The day the earth stood still – I felt like I got sucked into watching a 2 hour long Green Peace commercial. It wasn’t bad… but it wasn’t great.

- Righteous Kill – Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro together again? What could be better? Well, it was like Heat, but without the awesome.

- We started attending a photography class last weekend. It’s an eight or nine week program that meets on saturdays out in Chino, and seems like it will be a lot of fun.

- I forgot how good the Iron Springs Cafe was until me and Chris went there Friday. Southern fried tuna with jalapeƱo gravy is SOOOOOO freakin’ tasty!

- We went to Esoji for dinner on Saturday. I only had one sushi course, and I was still amazed!! Every thing that comes out of their kitchen is simply delicious.

- There is a blogger get together this sunday at Casa Sanchez around 2:00pm. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it, but I am sincerely hoping. I will be out camping with friends Saturday night, and will have to contend with them to get back in time.

So there you have it. The life of an IT guy. :)

Hope you make the blogger thing, Tombo. I'd like to meet you.

Catalyst - I'm going to try really hard to make it. I might just end up driving myself to the trailhead and hiking out ahead of the others. I'm kind of doubting too many of them are going to be up for getting up at 8:00 to hike out. :)

Honed in on a) Seven Pounds - already read the entire plot... wasn't sure. I'm curious to see if it actually almost brought you to tears, even though I know what happens and why.

and

b) Heat/Pacino/Deniro. Love them both, very much, but more Deniro. Hear KICKED ASS. We love that one. I was upset that it seemed as though Righteous Kill fell short of what they deserved if they were going to be in a film together. It was anticlimactic. Sad.

Melissa - :) Yeah Seven Pounds really did almost make me cry. Not too many flicks get to me, but there were a couple of things throughout that movie which I associated with.

And yeah, Righteous Kill was totally anti-climactic. It wasn't even a very interesting movie. I was expecting a lot seeing those two together, but it fell totally flat.

I watched Scarface a few weeks ago, and man does Pacino look old by comparison now...
