I wish there were a knob on the TV to turn up the intelligence. There's a
knob called "brightness," but that doesn't work. ~Author Unknown

Not that the computer is any better, mind you. :)

GRAW

So I have been playing the game 'Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter' because it came with the new video card in the computer. Awesome game, great design and very intuitive controls. But the AI in this thing is rediculous! I end up babysitting three guys with automatic weapons, and wishing i could kill them myself! It's not too novel of a concept: if i tell you to 'follow me' down a back alley, then you dont just wander down the main road screaming at me that you are under fire. You die, and you deserve it

New Flickr Account

Well i decided to sign up for a flickr account because of the amount of space they give, and the ease of describing and naming photos. So future photo sets will be hosted at:

Down and Dirty Photography

Gotta love this series of photos take on the street. Kind of depressing, but beautiful at the same time.

Philosophy 1

So, what is the point of this big thing we call life? My friend Daryn has grilled me over my views of this for a good long time now, and for some reason i now feel compelled to attempt to put down into text some of the ideas behind my reality.

1. I can prove nothing, therefore I cannot know anything. I can only assume that things are true. These assumptions may change at anytime due to changing information provided to me.

2. #1 is not limited to 'facts' but the manner in which the world is experienced as well. I cannot prove that the sky is blue, i can only assume that it is indeed blue. This is because me seeing something does not prove it to be true, and even if it did my definitions for 'reality' are based on information recieved from third parties whose knowledge i cannot prove (who taught me that this color is blue and how did they know it to be 100% true?)

3. I cannot say what is wrong or right for others. I can only define what is wrong or right for me personally.

4. I can judge people only from my point of view, and this does not necisarily reflect the true nature of the person. This brings with it an assumption that my judgements of people have a very narrow scope, relating to the manner in which i interact with those people.

That's all for today, more to follow i am sure. :)

Rediculously hard game

Found this little app: http://www.handdrawngames.com/DesktopTD/ which is a rediculously fun and hard little game where you must kill all the creeps before they cross the screen.

We are all born with wonderful gifts. We use these gifts to express ourselves, to amuse, to strengthen, and to communicate. We begin as children to explore and develop our talents, often unaware that we are unique, that not everyone can do what we're doing!

Why do they need my mother's maiden name?

So have you ever called up your credit card company to get some account info, and they ask you what your mother's maiden name is? Do they seriously think of this as a secure means of identity verification?

What if they can't understand what you are saying when you give them your mother's maiden name? Surely they wouldn't be able to assist you any further, right?  This guy found out that hacking your own visa account would be easier than you might think.

Pretty dang entertaining if you ask me. :)

My First Blog Post

Well I decided to join the random millions who have their own blog (a guy has his popularity, and ability to follow the crowd to think of doesnt he?) and this is it.  I'm sure plenty of randomness will ensue with topics including; life the universe and everthing, what was for dinner last night, why work isn't as fun as it should be,

So anywho; news in my life recently:

Just got a new computer

Bought a house last year

Decided that putting rutabegas into mashed potatoes will cause oralgasms on contact (this decision was reached after eating at an irish restaurant here which mixed these two delicious items, as well as my own first trial last night)

Still trying to figure out exactly how the world fits together with itself.

Anywho, thanks for stopping in!
