Fire season is here

What started as a signal fire for lost hikers has turned into a wildfire spanning hundreds of acres burning near Crown King (news story here, and here). Which has blanketed Prescott with smoke, giving us a true fire-sky this morning:

Yep, Fire season is here.

*EDIT* - looks like it is up to 2400 acres.

I have not heard the fire bombers since I got up this AM -- where are they? Rich said that he heard them all night (I am a zonked out sleeper so wouldn't have heard them during the dark hours!)

Not sure where the are, but there are supposedly 3 tankers, and 4 helicopters supporting the ground crews.

Also looks like the fire has burgeoned into a 2400+ acre beast.
