I try to fill my lungs.

When it rains I walk outside and fill my lungs with the smell. It is one of my very favorite scents.

The smell of the Arizona desert after a summer rain is one of the most wonderful scents in the world. I recall a train trip from Florida to Phoenix years ago. It was 3 days in the RR car; you can imagine the air. Shortly after Tucson, we went through a patch of land where it had rained and I stepped outside on the rear platform. Oh, my, what a wonderful filling of the lungs....

I here Ya ...It's a musky smell that reminds me of collecting worms in Montana after a rain for fishin...

I know I'm strange, but I was reminiscing!

GrannyJ - I can only imagine how appreciated the damp air was for that train ride!

Big Sky Chef - Worm collecting? That sounds like it could be buckets of fun! :) The smell is definitely muskier as you head towards chino/ashfork.

My personal favorite is the smell in the forest while it's raining. Wet pine trees... MMMMmmmm
