Pic of the day

Well, working in our Chino office today provided a whole new bit of scenery on my lunch hour walk.

So my pic of the day is this defunct gas pump sitting in the weeds:

Good picture idea, Tombo. Wonder if that's a prophecy!

Catalyst - In a way it is, as these mechanical pumps can't go over $3.99 / gallon, many will be discarded in favor of the newer digital kind.

Apparently in 1996 3.99 was the most we could fathom paying for gas. :)

Man, I can remember paying 29 cents a gallon at a cut-rate station in Glendale back in 1972. And that is what is meant by "the good old days!"

My earliest gasoline memories were back in the early 90s when we were outraged at the price-hike to $1.35. :)

So -- with projected gas prices, we can anticipate a new stock of abandoned relics...

GrannyJ - Yep, man abandoned gas pumps will probably be showing up in the next 6-12 months.

Now that's taking the pump to where the Bio-fuels come from.
